What's New?

The following new features are introduced in this release:

To increase the user focus on the actual area or element, while going through a Workflow a new feature called Spotlight has been introduced. Spotlight emphasizes the screen elements by giving different options to highlight the element selected. The user can select the options in the step editing screen in Editor. The section SPOTLIGHT OPTIONS contain a list of options for highlighting.

Different Spotlight Options:

        1. Highlight:

A highlight would add a surrounding border to the selected element which acts as a clue to the user.

        2. Blink:
Blink option takes the Highlight option to a notch higher by blinking the border that is added around the selected element.

        3. Focus:

Focus option will create an overlay on the screen and allows the user to work with only the selected element.

Permalink is a direct link to your application that automatically starts a flow/ announcement/ knowledge content when clicked.

Note: Permalinks work when the player is active, and content is published.

The URL which has permalink ID when used on a browser, launches the application along with auto start of a workflow.

  • Unique User Identification:

To present new features and announcements to users, we need to identify users uniquely and categorize them to achieve this, letzNav introduces a feature to identify users based on different strategies. These are present in Manage Application of the letzNav admin.

Note: None can be selected if User Identification is not needed

Different Strategies for user Identification are:

    1. letzNav ID:
This option generates a Unique ID that will differ for every instance of the player.

    2. Cookie:
This option will take a cookie name which will be present when the Application is loaded. This cookie will be used to identify the user.

    3. JavaScript:
The JavaScript option takes a script that will return a valid user ID string that has to be checked.

    4. Variable:
This option takes a Window variable, which will be checked when the user loads the site along with the player.

The knowledge of the basic functioning of Documents, Window object and working of browser memory is required to use the above feature.

The identification of the user, based on user ID, helps to present Onboardings and announcements to users when the player is loaded on the application.

Segmentation is one of the important features that allow to categorize the users and show content specific to the user. This allows the user to focus on available tasks and reduce the amount of content available in the player menu. Segments can be created from the admin and Items can be assigned to segments based on the requirement. If no segment gets connected all the items will appear.

A segment can be determined by its type. A segment can be any of the three types

  • Variable:
Variable takes a window variable that will be checked in the window when the page is loaded. Once the variable is found the segment is detected and related items are presented in the player window. At a time more than one segment can be connected and items related to that will be available for use.
  • URL:
URL of the application page or a valid part of the URL can also be used to determine a segment. A valid Regular expression of the URL can also be used.
  • Custom Script:
The custom script will take a script that will perform a required check and will return true or false that will determine a segment’s connection.

Managing Segments:

User Onboarding

User onboarding allows creating a list of items or tasks that need to be completed to achieve a certain level of acquaintance with the desired area. The onboardings appear in a new tab in the player. The number of tasks in that onboarding and their progress is displayed. When any of the onboarding is clicked, the list of tasks that are part of the onboarding will be shown and can be completed.

Managing Onboardings:

Analytics Screens

For the new Features like onboardings and Permalinks, separate analytics screens have been created.

  • Permalink Analytics:
Most used permalinks and use over period of time

  • Onboarding Analytics:
Most used onboardings and tasks over a period of time along with completed tasks and onboardings.

Rebuilding Extensions from Admin

The Extensions page now includes a new Rebuild Extensions button which will help to get the extensions with the latest changes (if any). The latest applications list will be added to the manifest and version number will be increased.
